With the growing rate of digital adoption, there is an increase in demand for the cybersecurity industry to address the risks involved. As such, these cybersecurity risks are escalated to relevant government and enforcement agencies as focus areas to strategize mitigation plans.
A group of CISO/CTO/CIO gathered in 2018 to form the Industry Strategic Cybersecurity Working Group (ISC-WG). Series of cybersecurity roundtable discussion workshops hosted to discuss the on how cybersecurity supports the development of Malaysia’s digital economy, as well as to address the current issues and challenges in Malaysia’s cybersecurity landscape from the perspective of ICT practitioners.
Summarised the finding of the challenges and recommendations around cybersecurity from the series of workshops.
Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) is entrusted to oversee the development and championing Malaysia Digital Economy. To succeed on these fronts, cybersecurity has been identified as one of the key enablers for the digital economy. Thus, MDEC is hosting this series of CIO/CISO Roundtable discussions focusing on cybersecurity in supporting Malaysia’s digital economy development.
The objective of this CIO/CISO Roundtable series is to aggregate industry challenges, building use cases, gauge industry best practices as well as identify the gaps of technology and solution to facilitate adoption in digital transformation. The outcome of this discussion will be used as the industry reference in addressing challenges and developing solutions for cybersecurity towards greater digital adoption in Malaysia.
